A Kindred Spirit
I am inspired by the character of Anne Shirley in L.M. Montgomery's book and movie, Anne of Green Gables. I saw the movie as a teen and loved it. As a teen, I was quiet and shy. Not like Anne Shirely. When Anne sets her mind on something she was relentless. She was a headstrong girl who spoke her mind even when she should keep quiet. She was overly dramatic and emotional but had a vivid and creative imagination. The time period (early 1900's) and characters embodied community, friendship, family, and love. Anne Shirley's strength, passion, and creativity are qualities I still strive for as an adult.
